Yamba Uniting Church is responsible for leading the chapel services at Caroona Aged Care Facility on the third Friday of each month. This ministry of our congregation seeks to support and spiritually nurture aging Christian brothers and sisters, but also opens the way for those wanting to know more about God in their later years. The chapel services are highly valued not only by the residents, but also by the staff and volunteers who attend.
The number of people from our congregation who are now residents at Caroona is increasing, and taking the chapel service each month is one good way to remain connected with them. The services are important for other reasons too, as often there is a time of remembrance for residents who died in the days before, and frequently their family members or friends join us. We also have people who don’t have a church background but, after they come to Caroona, decide they want to come to chapel to learn more about God.
